What are the Child Support Obligations in New York?

The state of New York requires parents to pay child support the presumptive amount of child support is determined by the CSSA  (Child Suport Standards Act).
 
The presumtive amount of child support as a percentage of gross income are as follows:
 
  • For one child- 17%
  • For two children - 25%
  • For three children - 29%
  • For Four children - 31%
  • Five or more children - no less than 35%
